Trust the Process

Welcome to the Journey

On my first day back to the gym in over 6-months, I desperately gasped for air on the stairmaster in the basement of the YMCA.  Looking for air ventilation and thinking, I need an oxygen mask before I pass out.  Not my finest moment, but definitely eye-opening as to how out of shape I had become over the past few months.  Clearly cheat day became cheat months, but what’s great about life is you can make a change for the better instantaneously!  So that’s what I did!

Just a brief overview of the last couple of years.  In 2016, I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes, which altered my entire way of thinking.  It scared the crap out of me.  Being an over thinker, so many scenarios ran through my mind.  I didn’t want to be the person who needed insulin to function day-to-day—especially if my diagnosis could be reversed.  So, I made alterations that year and became more active, ultimately leading to reversing that diagnosis.  At some point, I let my guard down (as I'm sure we all have) and  here we are about to pass out on the stairmaster plus 20 pounds worth of cheat days. LOL!  As well as back to where I started--pre-diabetic est. spring 2016. An abomination.  So this starts my weight loss and fitness journey.  Living and leading a new lifestyle.

Welcome!

The last 6-weeks have been quite challenging with modifying my diet and fitting workouts into an already busy schedule since making the decision to live a better, healthier existence.  I got a trainer for the extra push, which was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.  This isn't my first trainer, but I chose him because of the proven results he has posted. He pushes me beyond my comfort zone and tests my limits.  Well worth the days I want to throw up in the middle of a session with him...haha. On another note, I’ve also found and made creative alternatives to some of my favorite foods, which I’ll be sharing!

So over the next few weeks, let's travel this path together.  Topics will be recipes, workouts, playlists, and advice!  As my trainer from ForeverFit Fitness would say, “trust the process!”  He has given me the extra confidence I needed to get the job done once and for all.  I hope I can inspire and do the same for you!  Let’s make our goals and achieve them.  Suggestions always welcome.  Until next time!

Luv,
